is pre-announced below. The Final
Exam date/time will be set by the Registrar. |
(Sep. 22).
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer
Science has predetermined that Deferred Examinations for
the department’s courses (EECS) will be held during the last two days of
the exam period of the same term.
Students who are unable to write their final exam at the
original scheduled date and time for reasons beyond
their control –such as illness, family emergencies,
religious observance, etc. may complete the 'request to write
a missed or religious accommodated final exam during
the exam period form'.
If the request is
approved, the student should write the exam during one
of the last two days of the final exam period of the
same term as determined by the department. If a student
is unable to write the make-up exam due to any reasons
beyond their control, they can submit a deferred
standing petition via the Lassonde
petitions website. If granted, the exam
will be scheduled during the exam period in the next
offering of the course if it occurs within the next 2
semesters.
Note that any deferred
exam beyond the final exam period may be designed by a
different course director. However, the exam once
written will be sent to the original course director or
their delegate to be possibly adjusted and graded in the
fairest way at their discretion.
Requests for writing a
missed exam within the final exam period must be
submitted within certain timelines which are available
within the form. The deadline for submitting the request
is as soon as possible after the missed exam and no
later than 7 days after the original scheduled final
exam date and at least 2 days prior to the make-up
dates. Any petition, such as writing a
deferred exam or missing a deadline, should be submitted
immediately. Students registered with the Student
Accessibility Services, who are unable to secure Alt
Exam Centre accommodation for their deferred exam during
the last two days of the exam period due resource
limitations at Alt Exam Centre, have the opportunity to
bring their situation forward for review. Note that
requests and petitions may not be granted if exceptional
circumstances aren't present.
If allowed at all in
the course outline, the procedures and dates for
deferring any course-work other than the final exam or
final project are determined at the discretion of the
course director.
Religious Accommodations:
Students who require a religious accommodation for their scheduled final exam must submit a request at least 21 days prior to the start of the exam period. Religious Accommodation requests can be submitted via the 'request to write a missed or religious accommodated final exam during the exam period form'.
