The York
University Computer Museum (YUCoM) is a historical collection and a research center
for the history of computing located in the Department of Computer Science and
Engineering, York
University. Its mission is to preserve, document, and interpret the history of
the information age in Canada, with special emphasis on the creation and the development
of the Canadian microcomputing industry.
To fulfill its mission, the Museum acquires, documents, and maintains a collection
of computer artifacts of historical significance to Canada. The collection preserves
relevant historical documentation in all media. The Museum initiates and supports
a broad range of activities from historical research and student supervision to
exhibits, lectures, seminars, and other forms of public presentation. |
