Lectures and Labs

The class meets twice a week for lectures.

There is also a weekly lab, right after the Tuesday lecture. Students must attend this lab when there are labtests and are encouraged to attend every week. That's

Week 1 (May 6, May 8)

Reading material: Chapter 1 and the guided tour.
Lectures: Chapter 1
Labs: eCheck # 0 (eCheck00A) and eCheck #1 (eCheck01A).

Week 2 (May 13, May 15)

Reading material: Chapter 2. Continue with the guided tour.
Lectures: Chapter 2.
Labs: eCheck #2 (eCheck02A).

Week 3 (May 20, May 22)

Reading material: Chapter 3. Complete the guided tour. Students are responsible for knowing this material.
Lectures: Chapter 3.
Labs: eCheck #3 (eCheck03A).

Week 4 (May 27, May 29)

Reading material: Chapter 4
Lectures: Chapter 4.

Week 5 (June 3, June 5)

Labs: Labtest #1 will be held in your normal lab session.

Week 6 (June 10, June 12)

Week 7 (June 17, June 19)

The midterm is held during this week.

Note that the date of the written part has been changed from June 19 to June 17.

Lectures: Chapter 7. Written part of midterm held in class on Tuesday, June 17.
Labs: Labtest part of midterm held in your regular Tuesday lab session.

Week 8 (June 24, June 26)

Reading material: Chapter 8.
Lectures: Chapter 8.

Week 9 (July 3 Only)

The course "drop date" is Monday, July 7.

No classes or lab Tuesday, July 1 ("Canda Day").

Reading material: Chapters 8 and 9
Lectures: Chapters 8 and 9.
Labs: None: there are no classes on July 1.

Week 10 (July 8, July 10)

The course "drop date" is Monday, July 7.

Reading material: Chapter 9.
Lectures: Chapter 9.
Labs: Labtest #2 will be held in your normal lab session.

Week 11 (July 15, July 17)

Reading material: Chapter 10.
Lectures: Chapter 10.
Labs: eCheck #7 (eCheck10A).

Week 12 (July 22, July 24)

Reading material: Chapter 11.
Lectures: Chapter 11.
Labs: Labtest #3 will be held in your normal lab session. It will be closed-book with no aids and will focus on the material from chapter 10.

Week 13 (July 29, July 31)

Reading material: Chapter 12.
Lectures: Chapter 12 and review.
Labs: No scheduled exercise, but the lab will be open and TAs present.

Final exam (exam period) August 5-15 inclusive.

Students registed in this course are presumed to be available to write the final examination during this period.
The final exam will be scheduled by the registrar's office (see Examination Schedules).
Students are advised to consult the registrar's office in advance of making other commitments (e.g., holidays, flight bookings, etc).
