ITEC 1010 - M Section - Winter 2000

Assignment One

Due: January 24

LATE BREAKING NOTES:
  1. Just to further clarify what is stated below... The phrase make appropriate use of HTML tags means just what it suggests. You should avoid using the <pre> tag altogether, unless you actually want to include an example of computer code in your resume. Don't use the special character "&nbsp;" to align characters. A list or table is probably more appropriate.
  2. Just to clarify, the phrase below, "make sure it contains... text in bold and italics" does not mean that all the text must be in bold and italics. It just means you must make some use of these HTML features.
  3. You are expected to make appropriate use of HTML tags in this assignment; e.g., in the headings, in setting up the list of course descriptions, in creating the table, etc.
  4. Do not change any of the html files for Assignment #1 after the submission date. If the date of any file differs from the submission date, the assignment is assumed to be submitted on the later date, and the appropriate late penalty will apply. After the marks are posted on the web, please feel free to make changes (but keep a copy of your original files as well).
Create a web page containing your resume. Make sure it contains:

The Table: The table should describe the courses you currently take at York. For the column headers, include course code, course title, professor's name, where/when the course is taught. The course codes should be links to short descriptions of the course. The anchors (i.e., the places to jump to) should be again the course codes appearing in bold, followed by the course descriptions indented as follows:

ITEC1010
This course examines the value and importance of
information to organizations, how informatnion is used,
stored, processed, etc.
The course descriptions must be located immediately after the table.

NOTE: You must create this web page using an ASCII text editor, such as pico, EDIT, or Notepad. Do not use a web authoring tool, such as Microsoft Word, Netscape Composer, or any other program that produces HTML code. Your mark will be zero if this instruction is not followed.
