The weight distribution of the course components is as follows:
  • 0% - 7 programming exercises (PEx's)
  • 0% - 3 web programming exercises
  • 25% - labtest 1
  • 25% - midterm
  • 25% - labtest 2
  • 25% - final exam
  • bonus marks (see below)

Note also that conversion from numeric to letter grade is applied to the overall mark only and in accordance with the following departmental standard:

Bonus marks

In The Amazing Race and Jeopardy (see format for details), students may score points. At the end of the term, the student that has scored the most points in total will receive a 10% bonus. Number two and three will receive a 5% bonus. The students ranked 4-10 will receive a 2% bonus and the students ranked 11-20 will receive a 1% bonus.
