CSE Professors Peter Cribb, Jarek Gryz, and George Tourlakis receive the 2010 York Award for Outstanding Constributions to Internationalization

Tuesday, March 09, 2010

Please join us in congratulating CSE faculty Professors Cribb, Gryz, and Tourlakis for receiving York International 2010 Award for Outstanding Contribution to Internationalization under the Faculty category. Established in 2000, this award recognizes the contribution and enhancement of the internationalization of student experience made by all areas of the York Community. Each year, the committee presents one award to a member or group from the York Faculty category.

The award recognized the long-time contributions of Professors Cribb, Gryz, and Tourlakis in instituting summer schools for CSE students in Germany, Greece, and Poland. Still being offered, these summer schools provide an opportunity for York CSE students to take CSE courses outside Canada in an international environment. More recently, Professors Cribb, Gryz, and Tourlakis have expanded the international activities of CSE students by applying successfully to two consecutive $200,000 HRSDC/EACEA-funded TEPs, which subsidize the cost of exchange students enrolled in the summer schools.
