The Technology Internship Program (TIP) provides computer science and engineering students with the opportunity to engage in a four, eight, twelve, or sixteen month internship with industry.

Employers actively recruiting from TIP include IBM, NORTEL, RIM, MDA, Celestica, AMD/ATI, CIBC, RBC Financial Group, TD Bank Financial Group, Moneris, Ministry Of Health, Municipality of York Region, Communication Security Establishment, Ontario Lottery & Gaming, Imperial Oil/Exxon Mobil Canada to name a few.

Here are a few examples of positions that TIP interns received last year.

Types of projects that TIP interns are currently involved in are as diverse as:

  • Designing and developing telecommunications software solutions
  • Maintaining and enhancing existing tools using Software Engineering practices
  • Researching and designing wireless communication hardware and middleware
  • Developing advanced techniques for protecting software from hackers
  • Building and launching high-resolution Earth imaging satellites
