Each student will select a research paper from the a reading list.
You will make an oral presentation of the paper to the class.
The presentation will be for 40 minutes, including disussion and question time.
You should address the following issues in the presentation:
What are the objectives of the paper? What problems does it solve?
A brief review of related work (if described in the paper).
What techique(s) or algorithm(s) does the paper propose?
In-dept desciption of the technique or algorithm. Explain
the technique or algorithm, including assupmtions, mathematical
derivations (if applicable) and steps of the algorithm. Use an illustrative
example if possible.
Experimental results for the technique or algorithm if the paper reports
them.
What are the advantages of the technique or algorithm? What are the
limitations of the technique or algorithm?
What are the open (unresolved) issues in the research?
Answer questions from the audience.
All students are encouraged to ask questions whenever they do not understand
something. Comments on the presented research are also welcome.
