á          Sep 15: Confirmed with TAs, the first lab starts from this Friday (Sep 18th). Please download the project write-up and start to prepare it. For next class, please preview section 1.4 ÒSignal implementation with MatlabÓ and review Appendix B ÒIntroduction to the complex number systemÓ.

á          Sep 15: Lecture notes for part 1 posted here. The Lab project1 is posted here. Assignment one is posted here.

á          Sep 14: Lab starts from this Friday Sep 18th the week of Sep 22nd and may continue through the reading week.

á          Sep 3:  The instructor is away for a conference until Sep 11. Our first class starts on Sep 15th.

Course Summary:

This course presents key mathematical techniques used to analyze continuous and discrete signals and to design systems which produce or manipulate signals. The techniques have wide application in industry to areas as diverse as computer vision, wireless communications and robotics. Specific applications to basic systems such as filters, mechanical vibration and feedback control systems are discussed in class. Lab activities and assignments include the use of tools such as Matlab to reinforce the concepts.
