Why? Two main reasons ... 1. We believe that professionals in CS and CE must increasingly bring an awareness of world cultures, languages, and attitudes to technology to their work. After all, software (to take one example) is deployed world wide and multinational companies are likely to appreciate a potential employee with international experience. 2. It helps satisfy our objective of educating a well rounded individual. The CS or CE degree should not be viewed as a narrow technical training. The liberal arts component is a crucial aspect of your education. Anyway - to hear about our Summer 2005 plans please come to the Information Meeting Monday Oct. 4 1:30-2:30 129 Chemistry Bldg. Regards, Peter Cribb Chair Departmet of Computer Science and Engineering
