Notes on the Final Exam
This page is intended to provide you with some information on the format of the final exam. At this time we have almost finalised the exam, but we may still make some minor changes, so the information here is not guaranteed to remain 100% accurate - however, things are not likely to change very much.Here are some general comments:
- There are fourteen questions.
- The exam is out of 80 marks.
- The exam should take 120 minutes to write.
- The exam covers:
- the powerpoint slides and lectures,
- the demo programs and 'Java-doc' documentation,
- the weekly readings,
- and parts of
- Java API
- Java / Swing Tutorial
- “A Swing Architecture Overview” by Fowler
(on Swing version of the Model View Controller)
- Approximately 50% of the marks are from the first half of the course (before the midterm), and 50% are from the second half.
- There are two programming questions, together worth approximately 13% of the total.
- There are three questions from the weekly readings, together worth approximately 20% of the total.
- No aids are allowed.
- The final will be held on Monday, December 8th, at 8:30 AM, in VH C.
